CE5212 Fall 2008 Assignment 1: State of the art research synthesis

Read at least 5 peer-reviewed journal articles on a transportation policy, planning, or deployment research question of your choosing. (This may be related to your term paper topic, but is distinct from that paper). At least 3 of the articles should be from the past 3 years. Review the articles, and synthesize the state-of-the-art about the question of your choosing. Present your results in the form of a review paper of at least 10 pages single-spaced that can explain the findings for a professional non-academic in the field who may have completed graduate school 10 years ago. Appropriately cite your references. See the journal Transport Reviews or Journal of Planning Literature for examples of synthesis papers.
