1. Special Issue: The Implications of Land-use and Transportation on the Mobility Impaired Designing transportation systems and networks accessible for travellers with mobility impairments is a key issue of transportation policy. Accessibility issues arise at all levels within the transportation planning process; for example at the very local level through the provision of suitable road infrastructure as well as the network level through the provision of public transport networks that do not require a large number of interchanges to popular destinations. This special issue will consider papers that address transportation and land use needs of seniors and disabled people as well as research that considers approaches to provide more accessible transport. Papers for this special issue should be directed to Jan-Dirk Schmöcker by December 31, 2007.
